Native American (Indian) Baskets

Browse Our Authentic Selection of Native American (Indian) Baskets

Fine basket making is a lost art. The amount of time necessary to make these baskets is not to be found in this day and time. Only the Papago and modern Pima baskets
are made in the Southwest today. Most of our beautiful Native American (Indian) baskets were made a long time ago.
The largest designation of Native American (Indian) basket makers, Western Apache, is made up of San Carlos, White Mountain and Yavapai. Their home lands were made
up of a great part of Eastern Arizona and Western New Mexico. This region brought forward some of the most extraordinary Native American (Indian) baskets ever made.
Nearly all of what is now Southern Arizona was occupied by the Pima linguistic group. Their baskets are made from willow and devil's claw sewn over bundles of cat
tail reed. Some of the finest art work seen in Native American (Indian) baskets is exhibited in some of the old Pima trays.
Many baskets of the Hopi are are made with bundles for rods. The Hopi also make plagues, both woven and plated. All our Hopi baskets are beautiful examples of
authentic Native American (Indian) basket making.
Besides our Apache Baskets, Pima Baskets and Hopi Baskets, we carry a large selection of Native American (Indian) Baskets from other tribes and pueblos. You can find
baskets of the Hupa, Navajo, Pomo, Tulare and more.
